Is it ok to eat things like fruit cake or plum pudding while breastfeeding?

Would food like this affect my milk and then perhaps give my baby wind

You can eat pretty much anything you want. There are no specific foods that are "no-no's" for all nursing mothers. Just pay attention and if a specific food seems to effect your baby, then you may need to avoid it.
Reply:Yes, but the rule is whatever goes in your mouth goes in your baby's stomach. Stay away from spicy or gassy foods.
Reply:I can't express enough how great information from Le Leche League is!!! I read the book, The womanly art of breastfeeding, and it was great! you can get the book online or just about anywhere you get other baby stuff....

REMEMBER, BREAST IS ALWAYS BEST!!!

also, contact your local le leche league group! they can be an enourmous support system for you!

Good Luck!!!!

Reply:the only way to know what will give your baby "wind" as you put it is to eat it and wait. The only thing I could not eat while nursing is onions everything else was cool
Reply:yes
Reply:they are going to pass gas no matter what you give them so you might as well go for your desserts!
