PLUM JELLY
To get juice for jelly, wash plums and cover in water. Boil a few minutes. Cool and strain or put through a sieve.
5 1/2 c. juice
7 1/2 c. sugar
1 box Sure Jell
Bring juice to a boil; add Sure Jell, bring again to a boil; add sugar. Boil for several minutes until juice spins a thread. Let set a few minutes. Skim off top. Pour in clean jars and seal.
Looking far a recipe far plum jelly?
There is a pectin in a box named SureJell. I have used it for .......50 years. Inside the box are receipes and I have used most of them. Not a bad one in the bunch.
If you follow their directions you'll know what supplies you need and how many jars/glasses you'll have in the end.
Fresh plum jelly and jam is soooooo great! There is a wild plum ( sand plum) in Oklahoma that also makes wonderful jelly.
good luck
