What color shoes would work best w/a PLUM colored chenille dress.?

I bought it to wear on my anniversary in a couple weeks. Dress is mid-thigh and pleated (trapeze form). I immediately thought matching shoes, but I don't want to overkill the purple. Any suggestions will be VERY helpful.

i would keep accessories to only a dainty bracelet and earrings (maybe something he bought you!) in silver of course.

Reply:You can never go wrong with black. Then you can wear them with your other clothes too. That would be better than trying to match the plum dress with plum shoes, and have that be the only thing that goes with the shoes.
Reply:black with black acessories. or silver. with silver acessories. it depends if you want to dress it up. if you are, go with silver strappy stilettos with a nice necklace and earrings, and a silver clutch bag. very glamorous.

Reply:black is always a wonderful stand by...but you could also try a sliver...it would be a great change and would look pretty and festive for the holidays! Then go with silver accessories and you are stylin! It would look great with a sliver clutch bag too...especially a pretty beaded one!
