Hi can anyone tell me is it correct to prune a victoria plum tree? mine is four years old and getting to tall?

Yes it bares alot of fruit but I have been told by one school never to prune it and by another yes i can please help my tree is four years old and doing very well .

Reply:Yes, but you will want to prune in late winter or early spring.
Reply:not an expert on this, but have pruned apple trees before, and a fruit is a fruit, cut it back in February, keeping the overall shape, making shore that cuts are treated, and not left open , to infection
Reply:The cuts should be treated because plums are very prone to a disease called silver leaf.
