How do i look after my three year old Vitoria plum tree over winter?
apart from a prune your plum tree will be fine outside with no other action needed
Reply:Chop it down and bring it inside, you can't leave the poor little tree out in the cold!
Reply:My tree is known as a 'cordon' and lives in a large pot in the garden all year round. It is in quite a sheltered spot and so I merely prune it and leave it. If you can't move it, then depending on it's size, you could try throwing a cover of polythene over it (but don't tie up the corners - you need air to circulate). Generally though Victoria's are quite hardy and just need a good pruning. Because we are having a late autumn, I shall be pruning mine in a week or so.
Reply:I have a Victoria Plum Tree and apart from a good pruning (normally quite a brutal one if my husband does it!) it should look after itself and sprout lots of new branches next year.
Reply:It should look after it's self
