No its haraam.

Why don't you try reading Quran. It usually puts me to sleep.Believe me the tilawah has that soothing effect.
Reply:I would avoid it Sister.

There are plenty other options to treat insomnia.

Have a look at this Sister. http://www.emedicinehealth.com/insomnia/...

In the UK they have 'nytol' , they're not strong like valium or anything but they put you to sleep. There are also a lot of herbal remedies which are good. Just go into your local chemist and ask.
Reply:There are other none-alcoholic remedies you can use. So yes it is Harram.
Reply:Hey i have got same problem %26amp; u kow wat i do while i cant sleep i keep doing Zikr %26amp; that makes my time worthier than sleeping :) %26amp; for yor question i guess its better not to use it coz alcohol is Haram :) if u r really troubled see a doctor %26amp; ask for proper medicine.
Reply:I can relate sista, I got the same issue. Can't go to sleep at nite, cos Freddie's gonna pay a visit Lol.

Do you listen to any nasheeds, My personal favourite is kamal Uddin he has a beautiful voice, so in bed i listen to Allahu on my ipod and before i know it i am dozing off.

Alcohol is harram sis as u know so i say steer away from it, there is other remedies , so try asking your doctor or get it from thee chemist.
