How do I identify an edible wild plum tree?

I don't know of any plum trees that the fruit isnt edible... but, I would suggest that you do a search, either Yahoo, or Google, for images of "plum tree" on the internet. I recently did this to identify a blueberry bush variant.

How do I identify an edible wild plum tree?
By the fruit; they'll either be plum or damson. The leaves of both trees are similar, try to find some photos on the net. There is nothing poisonous that can be mistaken for it once you know the leaf shape and what the fruits look like.
Reply:By the plums! This is the time of year they should be starting to ripen. Some varieties ripen in August.
Reply:Try eating the plum..
