Is it dangerous for a dog to eat a plum? It fell of a neighbours tree. It not looked after or sprayed or anything its just a tree in their yard that the plums fall into our yard. My mum found a 1/2 eaten plum in the yard. Her dog is only small can it affect him in a bad way?
My mums dog ate a plum?
might loosen his stool a bit, but other than that issue no harm done not to worry.
you must also love the dog very much for all this concern
Reply:Won't be a problem.
Reply:It should be fine. Just watch to make sure the pit passes. My dogs used to eat peaches that fell off our tree with no ill effects.
Reply:One of my mum's dog's steals plums, apples, and pears from our fruit trees all the time and has quite a sensitive stomach - she's always fine so I can't imagine it will hurt your mum's dog.
Reply:Well we have a plum tree to and a 2 1/2 year old toy poodle. He eats the plums all the time and all it does is make him super hyper. Although if you notices some weird or different behavior definitely take the dog to your local humane society or vet.
