Why is there no plums in plum pudding?

Because of old English . The first fruit that the English preserved by drying was plums . Plums became the word for any dried fruit . Raisins are drieds fruit , so were called plums .

Also , the word apple was used as we say fruit . Whatever the tree produced was the apple of that tree .

When Captain Cook described the fruit that he found in Hawaii , he said that it is similar to the apple of the pine, a pineapple . It looks like a large pine cone .

Why is there no plums in plum pudding?
Because In the 17th century, plums referred to raisins or other fruits, which are typically found in plum pudding. The name for the pudding stuck, even when the name for the fruits changed.
