Easiest way to remove hair from a drain?

I have thick curly hair, and I always leave a lot of hair behind when I take a shower. I try to clean up my mess, pulling it out from the drain when I'm done, but there tub's been draining slow. I've also used Liquid Plum'r or Draino a couple of times, and that helps some, but is there anything else I can do? I heard pouring pure bleach down the drain will help. Is there any truth to this?

Thanks.

You might try to comb ur hair before getting in the shower, and if u do ur hair over a drain, i find it quite easy to cover the drain with a plug...my hair is very thick and curly as well and i shed alot. So, if you really need advice on this i suggest either getting the drains snaked on a regular basis..every 6 months and protecting them by doing the comb thru and cover the drains.....Draino and a plunger don't hurt much either ..lol, I know how ya feel and no way am i gonna cut my hair either !!! :) And no, bleach will keep ur pipes fungus free but it's a myth to say bleach will help with grease or hair clogs in the drain....sorry :(
Reply:At the local hardware store there is a chemical that is in a black bottle with clear plastic bag over it. I am sorry I cannot remember the name but it works really good cause i have the same problem. some one should be able to help you. its guaranteed to work.
Reply:Clorox is not going to disolve the hair. I took a small comb and removed all of the teeth, leaving only the ends. This will go into the drain and pull all of the hair out.
Reply:Bleach is only for a clean smell, doesn't help with draining faster. I use a small screw driver and a rubber glove to collect the hair. I also use 2 Alka seilker tablets for helping to clean the pipes, even use in kitchen sinks and bathtubs and bathroom sinks. Usually once a month, also to help with elimating odors. Then I use Ridex probably ever 3rd month. Never any problems. Good luck, works for me.
Reply:i would use drano max..it has a gel consistency so it should work
Reply:plunger

or use a bent coat hanger to yank the hair from the pipes
Reply:dump some baking soda in it.. about 1/4 - 1/2 a cup depending on how bad it its.. then follow with about a cup of plain white vinegar.. it bubbles and loosens the hair up..

If you have a crochet hook that works well to dig down in and grab with.. or hemostats.. anything long and thin you can grab with

but the soda and vinegar usualy does the trick.. We used to use it in the chinese place I worked at ini the kitchen in the floor drains.. because so much rice, sauces etc ( GUNK ) would get down in them.. works great
Reply:yes bleach will help..... I prefer baking soda and white vinegar
