What colors in a bedspread/comforter looks good with a light maple colored contemporary bed?

my bedspread i have now is red, yellow, and orange so i'm thinking of a cool color- maybe plum or green. I'm considering painting the walls a pale grey-green, but I am holding off on that until I find the comforter I want.

What colors in a bedspread/comforter looks good with a light maple colored contemporary bed?
1] first find the bedding you like - in purple or green or blue orcombo or print of all. Get bedding, throw pillows to match

the colors or same print

2] pick your favorite light color to paint the walls

3] pick a dark color for the rug

4] pick a light for large accessories - chair, lamps, etc.

5] pick a bright for small accessories - vase, flowerpot, candle holder, ornaments, desk/dresser accessories

6] pick frames for artwork in similar color and material - oak/walnut, brass/chrome, colored enamel.

Reply:Maple compempory is pale. Your bedspread has too many colors, you should go for one strong color i.e. burgundy, or plum as you like. The walls greyish-green light is great. If you have night tables in maple, you're on.
Reply:Definitaly violet or baby blue!!!!!!!!!!!! I have the same and have gotten lots of compliments!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Reply:If you want something dramatic, try black.
Reply:OH! Plum is one of my favorite, with a little green with look awesome. What if you painted the wall behind the bed Plum. and the rest of the room the pale green .

You could put a deeper plum and a deeper green pillows on the bed. I also like Beige, Brown and a pale blue, on the bedspread if its a pattern you could also have other colors as long as they are not too bold.
Reply:I think if you want to go dark/cool a purple- based brown would look great. By that I mean a darker purple with more red than blue. I don't think blue would look good. I am having trouble picturing a green that would look good.

A gray green sounds beautiful on the walls though.
Reply:A dark forest green would be beatiful, but if you're going to paint a gray-green (check out "quietude" and "kind green" by Sherwin Williams), then I think I would recommend a medium-tone watery blue bedding set for a bit more interest.

Here's an example of what might look good:
