I buy 32 plums and peaches for $52. A plum costs $2 and a peach costs $1. How many plums did I buy?

20 plums and 12 peaches. Don't know what you will do with 20 plums, but peach pie sounds good right now.

apparently there are a couple different answers, my sister came up with 16 plums = $32 and 20 peaches = $20 for a total of $52

20 plums = $40 and 12 peaches = $12 for a total of $52

i am sure there are more.
Reply:technically this is a homework/math problem, but i guess it counts for f%26amp;d as well.

well...

2(x) + 1(32-x) = 52

x+32 = 52

x=20

x = number of plums = 20

(32-x) = number of peaches = 12
Reply:Enough that you should not be asking this question in the Food and Drink category. Go to homework or math.
