How do we stop our plum tree from producing fruit with out cutting down the tree?

Do not know why you would want that... BUT.. one way might be to put fertilizer on the tree WHEN the tree is in full bloom. That(fertilizer) applied at that time is not good if you want lots of fruit on a tree.

yeah pick off all the blossoms! next time make sure you know whether it's a male or female.
Reply:There is a chemical you can spray on it, but the window is very small to be effective. The Chemical brand name is called plorform and it is applied during the flowering stage before the fruit is set. The only problem is being able to spray the whole tree. this has to be done every year.
