Does anyone know in what year do the Stephanie Plum Novels by Janet Evanovich take place?

They seem to be current to me. It's the Kinsey Millhone books by Sue Grafton that are not running even with real time.

Does anyone know in what year do the Stephanie Plum Novels by Janet Evanovich take place?
I would think in "real time" - probably the year she wrote/published them.
Reply:They are set in the year they were written. I emailed Janet's website and received a reply from Alex the webmaster who is also her daughter. See the email below:

"Yes, you are correct that the Plum novels are set in the current year they are written. One for the Money was published in 1994, followed by Two for the Dough in 1996. From there, a new Plum was published each year, up to Twelve Sharp in 2006."
Reply:They all seem to take place around the late 90's or early 2000's.

They mention the internet a lot and by style of dress I would say they are near current times.

I hope this helps.
Reply:in real time...in eleven on top when she and ranger go to momma macs funeral he uses a camera phone.....also she uses the net allot also....only a few more days until #12...yippee
Reply:I am thinking 90s based on some of Stephanie's outfits....especially in the earlier books.
Reply:I think they are real time or close to it. The author never does say but that's my guess.
