I am HOOKED on these books by Janet Evanovich. Can't seem to get enough! I am just starting number 12 and will soon be done, so am looking for books with the similar style of writing. The mystery, love, humor stuff. Something light that is easy to read. Any suggestions would be welcome.
I also really got into the JR Ward books as well....about the Black Dagger Brotherhood... those are addicting as well...
Thanks
Any books similar to Stephanie Plum series? same style?
I love the Stephanie Plum books too! Janet Evanovich's other shorter books (Thanksgiving, Wife for Hire, etc) are written in the same style, but I don't like Metro Girl as much.
Jennifer Crusie, Susan Andersen, and Harley Jane Kozak are all sort of the same style, and their books are pretty entertaining and quick reads as well :)
Hope that helps!
Reply:The closest two I can think of to Evanovich are the Sue Grafton series... she's gone through the alphabet to Q at least by now-- Grafton writes about a female lead who has love in her life, some humor but a bit dryer and not as frequent-- no big "takes" on a kind of person, unless you know California really well. Still...
...some really good mysteries among them, though I admit I've not read them all.
The second is "The Cat Who..." mystery series by Lillian Braun, featuring a couple of Siamese cats and some fair mysteries. And I didn't read a great number of these.
Luck--
Reply:I too am a junckie!! I haven't read in years and started this series earlier this year. I have four young kids and not a lot of time to myself. After finishing #12 today, I realize this is my outlet so to speak. I need more!!! I will look into the suggested books and I'm so glad you posted this question!
Reply:Okay I found Lori Avocato's Pauline Sokol series to be very similar. Also Unzipped series by Lois Greiman. Those are the top two I can think of right now that are similar. And for a little paranormal read I'd recommend Mary-Janice Davidson's Betsy Undead series...HILARIOUS! Hope that helps ya (:
