Why is it that in some cultures thin people are considered physically beautiful, but plum people are not?

Sometimes the ideal beauty is to be thin, but people that are plum are not considered ideal in physical beauty.

The perception of what is beautifully in body, changes from century to century and from culture to culture. In western society are thin people more beautifull because they show they can control their impulses. They show they are persistent and strong because they work out and do sports.



Man in Africa like strong, plum people. People in the past liked more strong women because they were showing their wealth. Poor people were thin, rich people fat....

Reply:Thin often reflects healthy. Maybe you should move to Mauritania where the bride to be gets locked up in a room for several weeks before her wedding, and fed gobs of butter and other fatty foods. You know, lots of cushion for her new husband.
