(There is a guy here who wants to know)
Prunes are plums, why don't they call it plum juice?
Prunes are dried plums. When things are dried their chemical structure and taste changes. Plum juice wouldnt taste like Prune juice.
Reply:Because they dont' squeeze plums to make the juice, they squeeze prunes to get juice.
What I find interesting is how Sun-Maid has started labelling their prunes as "Dried Plums" instead... guess prunes have a bad reputation.
Reply:They usually call it prune juice but I'm not really sure.
Reply:Prunes are dried up plums and have to be reconstituted by boiling in water therefore have a different (and delicious) juice. Plums are fresh and full of a lovely juice but the flesh of the plum is much better than the juice, I think. Therefore you have a prune juice and a plum juice.
Hope this makes sense to you, I'm a little confused now. (PS don't drink to much prune juice at one time or you will get the "run arounds", no what I mean?)
