I want to plant 2 plum trees, I already have a victoria plum. Any suggestions on other varieties to plant. ( England Warwickshire ) Also any advice on where to buy from-- any good mail order places?

Early transparent gage and the old greengage have great flavour. Have a look at www.hedging.co.uk Ive been buying maiden fruit trees every year for 6 years from them and never been disapointed. Paul S.

Reply:i also have a Victoria and its bore me an abundance of fruit again this year,more so than other years and we've made some delicious jam. we bought another plum tree about 2 years ago,its still not mature but had about 10 plums of that this year,the variety of this one is called a czar if Ive got the spelling right,and the fruit it bears are delicious,opposed to the Victoria,these are a deep purple in colour and recommend this one for you. I'm also in England , and we got ours from Morrison's supermarket,for about ￡4.99 . at the time of purchase it stood about 3ft tall,and now nearly 6ft.
