Has my plum gone off?

I have just started eating a plum. I had one yesterday and it was fine. The one i have today is sour, does that mean it has gone off? If not is it ok to eat that way?

Might be unripe.. Gone off is tasteless and mushy.. possibly with mould..
Reply:Sometimes plums do taste sour, but rather than being off it sounds as if its not properly ripe yet. Normally when a plum goes off it goes very soft and mushy on the inside and tastes extremely sweet not sour.

You may have just picked a sour plum though, there was probably nothing wrong with it!
