In 2006 (hot summer) we had an abundance of plums on our plum tree. Last summer which was not great weather at all we had the lovely green leaves but only 1 plum! In 2006 we had over 200! Is this purely down to the weather or do they pruduce fruit every other year?
Fruit on a plum tree????
Your comment that you had lovely green leaves might be an indication that you over fertilized. We don't have plum trees in my area but over fertilization is a problem with citrus trees where all you get is growth of the tree but no fruit.
Reply:Yes you had a lot of wind during the blossom time and all the flowers got blown away before they were "furtilized' so to say. Thus no fruit.
