Buying 2007 Mazda 5 -- which color, Deep Plum or Phantom Blue?

The Deep Plum will be harder to find with our package but more unique. It is a very dark color, looks black at first but rich violet up close or in direct sunlight. Not the whole car, just in certain places. The Phantom Blue is a vivid dark blue-green which can change slightly in different light. This is a hard decision. I'm a married mom of one 5 year old.

(If you've seen the CX-7 or CX-9 in Black Cherry, this is similar in how it looks almost black but changes color up close or in direct light.)

Deep Plum. Nobody has that car with that color, you will certainly attract attention
Reply:Deep plum. I really like it. Its girly and sofisticated.
Reply:trendy colors like the plum tend to grow old and become less desirable over time. Blues, Blacks, Tans, Whites, and burgundy type shades tend to always be desirable. Therefore I would choose the Blue if you intend to keep the car more than a few years
Reply:I can't really tell you which color to choose because you'll be the one driving it in the end. Just for the record, unique colors don't age very well after a year or two and they are harder to sell when you're ready to sell them. They also demand lower resale value because it's a love it or hate it thing. Most people don't want them because they are here today and obsolete next year. The Phantom Blue is probably a better bet than the Deep Plum, but don't expect much if you try to sell either later on.
